Join internationally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, whistler, and songwriter Andrew Bird for two nights of eclectic and imaginative indie-folk.

Andrew Bird has an ear that is just as good as the best session musicians – the true chameleons of the industryAdd a dash of genre fearlessness and stage presence, and you have a musician with layers and layers of twists, turns, and boundless fun embedded in his compositions and performances.

Fan favorites like "Pulaski at Night," "Three White Horses," and "Sisyphus" have earned him a devoted following. But this time, something is different.

What Makes This Show Different

Andrew Bird makes his debut with the National Philharmonic. Swelling orchestral sounds meet his signature jazz, folk, and pop melodies.

He is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of his acclaimed record The Mysterious Production of Eggs – performing the entire album from top to bottom for the first time with a full orchestra.

After the album, he will play a suite of fan-favorite tunes from his nearly 30-year repertoire.

$1 of every ticket goes to his Hope This Helps Fund, supporting gun violence prevention, environmental justice, music for underserved communities, and the preservation of wild spaces and parklands.

Who Is Andrew Bird?

Since beginning his recording career in 1997, Andrew Bird has released 18 albums and performed at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

He has been a TED Talks presenter, a New Yorker Festival guest, and an op-ed contributor for the New York Times. He performed as the Whistling Caruso in Disney's The Muppets, scored the FX series Baskets, and made his professional acting debut in FX's Fargo.

In 2020, he received a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album.

Setlist Expectations

  • The Mysterious Production of Eggs – performed in full, with orchestral arrangements
  • A suite of fan favorites from his 30-year career

A Remarkable Idea Worth Noting

Strathmore offers community access tickets under $30 for many of their shows. The catch – you need to request them at least one week in advance. For this show, it is too late. But keep this in mind for future Strathmore concerts you want to see. It is a genuine effort to keep the arts accessible.
