Extreme heat is no match for eight-piece funk. Tonight's Live from the Lawn moves inside—leave the lawn chairs at home.
Here is the thing about summer concerts in the DMV. You plan for the lawn. You pack the blanket. You imagine the perfect evening under the stars. And then July reminds you that it does not care about your plans.
Tonight's Live from the Lawn performance by Strutman Lane is moving indoors to the Music Center at Strathmore due to extreme heat.
This is not a cancellation. This is an upgrade. Air conditioning. Acoustics designed for listening. And a roof that does not care about the humidity index.
Who: Strutman Lane — an eight-piece D.C. band that blends funk and pop into something that will make you move, even if you are sitting in a chair.
What: Live from the Lawn — now Live from the Music Center.
When: Tonight, July 1, at 7:30 PM.
Where: The Music Center at Strathmore — indoors, climate-controlled, and ready for you.
Leave the lawn chairs at home. The performance is inside, so there is no need to haul your gear across the parking lot. No blankets. No umbrellas. Just yourself, your ears, and maybe a friend who needs to hear a good horn section.
Seating is first-come, first-served. Arrive early. Grab a seat. Settle in.
The BBQ tent is still open. Food, drinks, and ice cream will be available. Because summer is not summer without something cold in your hand.
The heat is real, but the music is hotter. Strutman Lane started in a garage in 2019 and has since headlined Black Cat DC. They bring fresh energy to classic pop with funk grooves and soulful melodies. You can still reserve a spot for this show here. Do not miss them.
The summer heat might move a few more shows indoors this month. Stick with CulturalDMV for real-time updates on Strathmore's free concert series—we have got you covered. Subscribe.
