Bennett’s Curse Haunted House Announces Final Season at Eastpoint Mall, Launches Search for New Maryland Location — and Earns USA TODAY 10BEST Nomination
DUNDALK, MARYLAND
DUNDALK, Md. — After nearly a decade of terrifying guests at Eastpoint Mall, Bennett’s Curse Haunted House has announced that the 2026 Halloween season will be its final season at the mall, marking the end of an important chapter for one of Maryland’s longest-running and most nationally recognized haunted attractions.
With Eastpoint Mall closing, Bennett’s Curse owners Jill and Allan Bennett are now actively searching for a new Maryland location for the 2027 season and beyond.
Bennett’s Curse has operated at Eastpoint Mall since 2017 and has entertained generations of Halloween fans throughout its more than 25 years of operation in Maryland. Previous locations have included Arundel Mills, Blobs Park and Baltimore City before the attraction made Eastpoint Mall its home.
“This is definitely an emotional season for us,” said Jill Bennett, co-owner of Bennett’s Curse. “Eastpoint has been our home for 10 seasons, and we have built so many incredible memories here with our actors, staff and guests. But Bennett’s Curse is not ending. We are looking at this as the beginning of the next chapter, and our hope is to find a new location where we can continue to grow the attraction right here in Maryland.”
Bennett’s Curse Seeking New Home for 2027
The Bennett family is currently exploring opportunities throughout the Baltimore region and surrounding Maryland communities for a property capable of accommodating the large-scale haunted attraction.
The ideal location would provide substantial indoor space for the attraction, along with adequate parking and accessibility for the thousands of visitors Bennett’s Curse attracts during the Halloween season.
Property owners, developers, shopping centers, municipalities, economic development organizations and others who may know of a potential location are encouraged to contact Bennett’s Curse.
“We would love to remain in Maryland,” said Bennett. “Bennett’s Curse has been part of Maryland’s Halloween tradition for more than two decades. We want our next location to allow us to create an even bigger and better experience while continuing to bring visitors, jobs and economic activity to the community where we operate.”
Bennett’s Curse Nominated for USA TODAY 10BEST
As Bennett’s Curse prepares for its historic final season at Eastpoint Mall, the attraction is also celebrating a major national honor: Bennett’s Curse has been nominated for USA TODAY’s 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Haunted House/Attraction.
The nomination places Bennett’s Curse among a select group of haunted attractions from across the United States competing for recognition as one of the best in the country.
For the Bennett family, the nomination is especially meaningful during such an important year.
“To receive a national nomination like this during our final season at Eastpoint means so much to our family and our entire team,” Bennett said. “We have spent more than 25 years building Bennett’s Curse here in Maryland, and we would love to see Maryland come together and help put a Maryland haunted attraction in the USA TODAY Top 10.”
